Internship at: Sports (Data) Science
Period: Season 2026 – 2027 (start and end date in consultation)  
Suitable education: Data Science, Movement Sciences or Exercise Physiology (or similar)
Type of internship: Work placement

FUNCTION

You’ll be interning with the first team’s staff. They collect a lot of data from the players during training sessions and matches. This includes daily questionnaires, data from GPS sensors, and physical test results. This data is crucial for injury prevention, player development, and performance optimization. During your internship, you’ll be involved in the following tasks: 

Supporting daily monitoring and data collection around training sessions and competitions;
Analyzing the obtained data;
Providing support in taking physical tests;
Feedback of data to Technical and Medical staff;
Conducting scientific research to innovate within FC Twente;
If necessary, provide support in providing (strength) training.

WHAT DO YOU BRING?

You are currently in the third or fourth year (or have recently completed this) of one of the following courses (or something similar): 

Movement Sciences;
Motion technology;
Biometrics;
Biomedical sciences;
Sports psychology.

IN ADDITION, YOU HAVE OR ARE

Demonstrable passion for sports and preferably football;
Proactive and able to work in a team;
Are you familiar with, and do you recognize yourself in, our core values: Pride, Ambition and Neighbourliness?
Available and flexible during the entire 2026-2027 season (exact dates can be discussed);
Options for combining your final internship with your graduation assignment.
